Jesus healed everyone who came to Him for healing – expressing His will to heal. “I am willing; be cleansed” (Matthew 8:3). Jesus healed multitudes of sick people. It was said of Him, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with Holy Spirit and power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38). His ministry of love resulted in the dead raised, bodies healed and people set free from demonic bondage’s. Jesus validated Himself as the Messiah by pointing to His ministry of miracles and healings: “tell John the things which you hear and see; the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up and the poor have gospel preached to them” (Matthew 11:4-5).
Jesus revealed almighty God’s will to heal by claiming “if you have seen Me you have seen the Father” (John 14:10).It is the father’s will to heal – spirit, soul and body. Jesus gave His disciples authority and power to heal and commanded them “preach the kingdom of God and heal the sick” (Luke 9:2). Jesus promised that believers today are empowered by the same Holy Spirit to heal, as He declared, “those who believe…they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover” (Mark 16:17-18).
we are delighted to unite together as believers and pray for the sick in obedience to the Lord’s command. We expect Jesus’s promise to be fulfilled, “greater works than these he will do” (John 14:12) – that Jesus be glorified!
